Accounts Payable Specialist (6 month FTC)

£27,000 - £30,000 - plus 25 days holiday (pro-rata'd) + pension

Redhill Office based - Hybrid working - 3 days in the office, 2 days at home

Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding position with a well-established International FMCG business, who have recently gone through a systems change? This Accounts Payable Specialist position will provide an excellent working environment within impressive, modern offices that also offer on-site parking. Our client will offer hybrid working, so 3 days per week in the office, and 2 working from home and initially this role will be hired on a 6 month FTC basis, to cover the high workload and backlog of invoices.


You will be working for a highly experienced and very supportive AP Manager, within their hands-on collaborative AP team of 3, who have a great work ethic. This role would really suit a candidate with very hands-on and recent Accounts Payable experience wishing to develop their accounts payable knowledge further. My client will offer superb training, but those candidates who have worked on multi-currency invoices in a fast-paced environment will succeed here.

The successful Accounts Payable Specialist, will be working alongside the wider finance team of 15, and you will undertake the following tasks:

  • Being responsible for c1,500 invoices per month, along with all queries from stakeholders from all departments
  • Scanning of invoices
  • Uploading all invoices
  • Obtaining PO numbers for the invoices, following up with approvers for any missing information
  • Verifying bank details for new suppliers
  • Assisting with preparing and co-ordinating the payment of suppliers
  • Processing of all staff expenses and corporate credit cards
  • Responsible for Supplier Statement Reconciliations
  • Processing and maintaining accruals and pre-payments daily
  • Handling queries


The successful Accounts Payable Specialist (6 month FTC) will offer:

  • Recent UK experience
  • Some recent similar and relevant experience, potentially from working within a small AP team
  • Be flexible, adaptable and able to go the extra mile
  • The ability to be self-disciplined and energetic
  • A great aptitude for systems - Intermediate Excel and potentially Business Central will be preferred


This role would ideally suit someone who already had some grounding within Accounts Payable, and be looking to take that next step.
