Salary – Competitive dependant on experience

Hours - Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week with core hours/flexitime

Holiday – 25 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays)

About the Accounts Senior / Semi-Senior role

Due to growth, we have an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Senior or Semi-Senior to join our office in Derby.  

This is a great opportunity to work within a supportive and friendly team on an extensive and varied client portfolio.  We are looking for ambitious individuals who want to develop their careers and provide a first class service to our clients. Ongoing study support for the ACA/ACCA is available and ongoing career progression.

The level of responsibility will vary depending on level however you can expect to be involved in the following:

• processing of accounts for a variety of clients, including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• preparing VAT returns for clients
• preparation of Tax returns
• possibility of some audit work
• supporting the team with work and projects as required
• aid less experienced team members by motivating and developing them by providing training and support

About you –

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

• AAT qualified and/or ACA / ACCA part or fully qualified  
• minimum of 2-3 year’s experience in an accountancy practice
• Good accounting, VAT & tax knowledge, in particular corporation tax.  
• Experience with Iris, Xero & Sage preferred
• excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
• show initiative, exercise judgement and take ownership of tasks from start to finish
• experience of working on a wide range of clients
• computer literate including good Excel experience.
