About The Role
Team – Actuarial - Life
Working Pattern - Hybrid – 2 days per week in the Vitality London Office. Full time, 37.5 hours per week. 
What this role is all about:
As the Experience and Assumptions Actuarial Manager at Vitality Life, you will be responsible for analysing actuarial experience and setting actuarial valuation assumptions. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our financial models and projections, as well as providing key insights for strategic decision-making.
Key Actions

• Conduct detailed analysis of historical data to monitor and evaluate the experience in areas such as claims, lapses and member engagement in the Vitality program.
• Develop and update actuarial assumptions based on experience studies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements to ensure accurate and reliable valuations.
• Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation to support the assumptions and methodologies used in valuations, ensuring transparency and auditability.
• Clearly communicate findings and assumptions and provide actuarial insights for decision-making.
• Ensure that all actuarial practices and assumptions comply with regulatory requirements and professional standards.
• Engage with external and internal auditors on the valuation basis.
• Develop and maintain actuarial models used for experience monitoring and valuation, ensuring they are robust, accurate, and up-to-date.
• Identify and assess risks related to actuarial assumptions and experience and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
• Provide training and mentoring to junior actuarial staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.

What do you need to thrive?

• Student or Fellow member of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries or equivalent
• Extensive experience of working in an Actuarial Environment, ideally within Financial Services
• Knowledge of SQL, writing and editing complex queries to extract and process data, e.g., using SQL Server Management Studio
• Knowledge of Python and associated data processing libraries
• Knowledge of more advanced visualisation/dashboarding tools such as Power BI
