Job Title: Administrative Officer

Branch/Department: Brokerage Team

Location: Winchester/Hybrid

Contract Type: Temporary, through until the end of January 2025 initially

Salary: £13.28 per hour

Job Purpose

The Brokerage Team, part of the wider Brokerage & Billing Teams, sourcing residential andvdomiciliary care services on behalf of our community teams for Older Person and Physical Disability (OPPD) service users who have been assessed as having eligible social care needs.

Brokerage also create, amend and end all financial provisions for OPPD, Mental Health and Learning Disability Teams. The Team have daily engagement with Operational Teams, including Acute Hospitals and CART, as well as external stakeholders such as Care Providers and Clients/Representatives.

As a Brokerage Officer you will be responsible for providing advice, sourcing, and establishing person-centred, high-quality, and cost effective care for individuals to facilitate discharge from hospital. You will work on the day-to-day brokerage activities, including receiving referrals, identifying options, sourcing, negotiating and contracting arrangements.

What is the day-to-day of the role:

Within the role, you will be responsible for: (This list is not exhaustive)

  • Checking of Referrals
  • Provider Negotiation and Sourcing of Care Referrals
  • Liaison with Providers, Service Users and Internal HCC Teams
  • Adding Financial Provisions to HCC Systems
  • System Interaction (Including Case Notes and Updates)
  • Assisting with Collecting and Recording Data to meet Reporting Requirements
  • Resolving Escalated Queries
  • Assisting Team Members and Management as Required

    Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A minimum of GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • An understanding of IT systems and packages including Microsoft Office 360
  • A team player, strong ability to collaborate with different teams across the business.
