LEGAL COUNSEL, ADVERTISING
c. 2 -4 YEARS' PQE
1 YEAR FTC, TEMP TO PERM
PUBLISHING
LONDON - WFH/FLEX
We are working with a household name in newspaper, magazine and digital publishing. We are looking for an additional Legal Counsel to join the Commercial Legal team initially on a 1 year FTC, which may well become permanent. The primary focus of the role is to support the Sales and Studio teams on all advertising matters, especially around ASA and CAP Code. Crucially though, this role can then broaden out and the successful candidate will have plenty of opportunity to work on a broad range of commercial legal matters such as collaboration/commercial partnership agreements, distribution arrangements, royalty and licensing agreements, marketing, events and sponsorship contracts, AI and DP.

The successful candidate must be already well-versed in ASA/CAP Code compliance and advisory matters, including recent ASA adjudications and CAP Code restrictions and have experience liaising with the ASA. Prior in-house experience will be very valuable and a common sense, commercial approach will be key.

Cultural and personality fit will be very important: we are looking for candidates with excellent communication skills, who can build and maintain great stakeholder engagement. The work/life balance of the team is excellent with no set days in the Canary Wharf office, although the successful candidate will obviously benefit from working face to face with business and legal colleagues in the office whenever possible.

This is a brilliant and rare opportunity for an advertising lawyer to consolidate their skills in this area but also develop a wider skillset including a range of commercial, sponsorship, IP, AI & Innovation work within a supportive and fun environment.
