We are seeking a SEND Advisor to join a dedicated team, providing crucial support to families from marginalised communities in the London Borough of Ealing. This role is ideal for someone with experience in supporting children with Special Educational Needs or Disability (SEND) and their families, particularly in navigating the complexities of form filling for benefits and educational plans.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Offer advice, information, and support to families on benefits, financial issues, and entitlements.
  • Provide one-to-one support through home visits, letter-writing, form-filling, and attending statutory meetings.
  • Work in partnership with statutory and voluntary services to improve service uptake and quality.
  • Manage all aspects of the SEND support service, including financial, administrative, and data management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience working with disabled children and their families.
  • Strong partnership working skills with both voluntary and statutory stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic IT literacy.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and able to use initiative.
  • Knowledge of the key challenges facing disabled children and their families.
  • Understanding of the specific needs and issues faced by marginalised communities.
  • Knowledge of welfare benefits available to disabled children and their families.
  • Commitment to equal opportunities and a team player ethos.
  • Ability to speak Somali is desirable but not essential.

This is a part time role working 15hrs a week over 2 or 3 days a week (flexible days/hours to suit business needs).  

Location:  Northolt (parking available)
