Reed are currently partnering with a well renowned housing association, based in Evesham, in their search for a Money Advisor. 
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Location: Evesham (with travel to other locations as required)
  • Salary: £35,342 per annum 
  • Hybrid working, 1 day in office in Evesham 

We are seeking a dedicated Money Advisor to join our client's team, reporting to the Senior Money Advisor. This role is pivotal in providing and maintaining a Welfare Rights Service to maximise the benefits entitlement of our existing and prospective customers. The successful candidate will support customers with budgeting, reducing rent arrears, and accessing specialised support services.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Proactively manage customer contact to complete welfare benefit assessments through various channels, including calls, texts, digital platforms, or face-to-face services.
  • Deliver welfare benefits advice in a proactive and targeted manner, adhering to good practice.
  • Assess, analyse, and resolve complex issues in the delivery of Welfare Rights.
  • Prepare and present cases to statutory bodies, tribunals, and courts as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the Income Collection Team to address affordability and budgeting issues, focusing on priority debts.
  • Undertake personal development and training to stay current with housing and welfare legislation.
  • Develop welfare benefit take-up campaigns to target areas of need.
  • Refer cases to specialist providers such as debt counsellors and internal support services.
  • Maintain good working relationships with other service providers, both voluntary and statutory, to maximise income and extend provision.
  • Update the HMS with accurate case management records and provide monitoring information as required.
  • Respond flexibly to changes in work priorities and undertake other duties to support the effective operation of the service.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in delivering Welfare Rights services and maximising benefit entitlement.
  • Strong customer focus with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work proactively and manage a varied workload.
  • Knowledge of housing and welfare legislation.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key partners and service providers.
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and providing monitoring information.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities.
