Reed Talent Solutions are working with United Utilitieson the search for an Alarm Monitoring Centre Officer, also known as a Remote Monitoring Controller (RMC), to join a growing Monitoring and Control Team at their Lingley Mere Business Park.

What is the purpose of the role?

The RMC provides a strong, reliable monitoring capability which will proactively monitor asset condition 24/7/365 a year, whilst also ensuring appropriate control actions are taken to ensure United Utilities protect their assets, their people and their business reputation. This role is critical in managing asset data & alarms and ensuring that any deviations & events are resolved promptly.

This will require you to proactively analyse various sources of information including telemetry data, trends, workflow information, customer contact information and other sources be able to draw conclusions and ensure business response arrangements are in place where necessary.

What type of candidate are we looking for?

We are looking for candidates wtih strong IT skills and proven track record of using multiple systems at one time, problem solving capabilities from someone who performs well under pressure, and someone who is comfortable working the stated shift patterns.

What do you need to know?

  • Interview process: a United Utilities interview consists of 4 competency based questions and 2 technical assessments
  • Interview day: 22nd May 2024
  • Start date: WC 10th June
  • Pay rate during training: £17.23 per hour PAYE or £21.32 per hour via an approved Umbrella Company
  • Pay rate during shifts: £21.61 per hour PAYE or £28.57 per hour via an approved Umbrella Company
  • Location: Haweswater House, Lingley Mere Business Park, Lingley Green Avenue, Great Sankey, WA5 3LP
  • Duration: approximately 12 months
  • Contract: temporary assignment via Reed
  • Rotating shift pattern: 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off, 2 spares, 2 off, and repeat. Each shift is 12 hours in duration, starting/finishing at 06:30hrs, and spares can be allocated either days or nights. Equivalent to 42 hours a week.

This is a full time onsite role with no remote/home working.
