Job Title: Allocations Decision Officer

Location: Milton Keynes Council

Pay Rate: 13.33

Hours: Mon- Thurs 9-5.30 and Friday 9-5

Length of assignment: 6-8 weeks

Type of work: Hybrid

Opus Poople Solutions is recruiting on behalf of Milton Keynes Council for 4 dynamic and forward-thinking Allocations Decision Officers to join the Housing Department. As an Allocations Decision Officer, you will play a crucial role accessing the eligibility of social housing within Milton Keynes. Working within a fast-paced environment, you will be responsible for assessing housing applications.

Key Responsibilities:

- Review and assess housing applications in line with council policies and procedures.

- Conduct eligibility checks and assess housing needs of applicants.

- Make elegibilty decisions based on established criteria and priorities.

- Liaise with internal teams, external partners, and applicants to ensure a smooth process.

- Provide advice and guidance to applicants on housing options and support services.

- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all allocation decisions.

Requirements:

- Previous experience in a similar housing-related role is desirable.

- Knowledge of housing legislation and allocation procedures.

- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.

- Good IT skills and proficiency in using relevant software applications.
