Animal Carer

Location: Frome, Bath,
Hours: 20 hours per week (4 hours per day, 5 days a week - flexible start/finish times, including some weekends & bank holidays)
Salary: £Excellent

Are you passionate about animal care and looking for a rewarding role in a unique environment. Private Household is seeking a dedicated Animal Carer to join our team and support the well-being of our diverse range of animals, including chickens, goats, alpacas, pigs, ponies, donkeys, sheep, and dogs.

Your Role:

As an Animal Carer, you'll work under the direction of the Senior Animal Carer to ensure the health, safety, and happiness of our animals. Your responsibilities will include: Feeding, watering, and maintaining clean and comfortable environments for all animals.
Grooming ponies and donkeys and providing necessary health care.
Conducting monthly worm counts and monitoring animal health.
Supporting animal movement and relocation when needed.
Cleaning and maintaining enclosures, including compost sorting.

  • Washing feed and water buckets daily.
  • Checking field conditions and ensuring fencing is secure.
  • Assisting with the care of family dogs.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience in animal care, farm work, or a similar role is desirable.
  • A strong work ethic and passion for animal welfare.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Willingness to work some weekends and bank holidays as required.
  • A proactive and responsible approach to tasks.
