API Developer -

Job Title: API Developer

Location: London or Manchester

Remuneration: Up to £65,000 per annum

Contract Details: Permanent, Full-time

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain high-performing APIs that support our client's digital platforms and services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design scalable APIs.
  • Implement and test API integrations with internal and external systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to API functionality and performance.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of the APIs by implementing relevant security measures.
  • Continuously optimise and improve API performance and reliability.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practises related to API development.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other team members.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as an API Developer or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of API design principles and best practises.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Ruby.
  • Experience with API frameworks and technologies (e.g., REST, SOAP, JSON, XML).
  • Familiarity with API security standards and authentication methods.
  • Good understanding of database systems and SQL.
  • Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Additional Information:

  • Experience with API management platforms (e.g., Apigee, MuleSoft) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and serverless architecture is desirable.
  • Passion for innovation and continuous learning in the API development field.
