Application Support Analyst | Manchester | £45,000.00 - £50,000.00

An exciting opportunity has opened for an Application Support Analyst in Manchester with a global insurance company. Due to the increasing demand for data, analytics, and research, the company is establishing a new global hub in Manchester and seeks a talented individual to join the IT department. This role involves the day-to-day support and operations of Subscribe, the main Policy Administration Platform. Key responsibilities include handling support activities for various underwriting platform applications and managing incidents, problems, and service requests. This position requires a minimum of two days per week in the central Manchester office.

Responsibilities:

  • Resolve incident, problem, and service request tickets within agreed SLAs.
  • Execute routine system jobs and processes to support the BAU operation of IT systems.
  • Contribute to and implement continuous improvements within the function.
  • Provide support for various IT functions, including Service Desk, Infrastructure, DBAs, and Network Security, on application support issues.
  • Query application databases and perform initial level data analysis.
  • Engage extensively with vendors and internal teams to deliver effective and efficient application support.

Skills and Experience:

  • In-depth knowledge of the underwriting software Subscribe in an application support capacity; experience with Guidewire, Genius, or Eclipse is also desirable.
  • Previous experience working in the insurance sector.
  • Strong understanding of Lloyd's market insurance business processes and platforms like Xchanging.
  • Proficient in Lloyd's market premiums and claims messages (USM and SCM).
  • Knowledge of policy life cycle, claims processing, and outwards reinsurance processes.
  • Technical experience with TSQL for data querying and extraction.
  • Experience working in a regulatory environment.
