Procurement Apprentice- Trainee Procurement Co-ordinator

Construction industry role within the commercial team

They will support your Level 3 Procurement Apprenticeship (CIPS), with the opportunity to progress to Level 4 and 6.

The Trainee POC role will be closely following the guidance of the senior colleagues and Commercial Director as possible. The full job description as below is a guide to what is required. Once the trainee qualifies to CIPS level 3 more of the duties below will be assigned along with the skill set competency levels re assigned to match the job requirements. Level 4-6 will then be mapped out for the training period.

The POC is responsible for managing the buying gains document as issued by the QS & reporting costs to the QS for materials and resources , sourcing, negotiating purchasing materials & plant and specialists services within budget, assisting to improve margins with new suppliers, assist with change through the project duration with suppliers taking part in reviews with the PM's and DM's, to manage and update the delivery of materials.

Assist with VE exercises with the PM, QS and OPM's to reduce costs and remain spec compliant.

With the QS review the buying gains sheet and understand the requirements of the procurement required for the project and work within the budgets set for each element.

Regularly review the project costs against the project buying sheet and where required clear problem invoices with suppliers so that accounts can process payments within agreed time scales.
