Aquatics Supervisor

Location: Lewes

Salary: £26,209 - £26,942 per annum (Depending on experience)

The Role

  • As the Aquatics Supervisor you will be supporting the Aquatics Manager in the effective operation of the Hydrotherapy pool. You will take responsibility for colleagues providing the highest standard of delivery of care and safety.
  • You will facilitate the delivery of the Aquatics program and support the Young People to achieve their potential by delivering Aquatics Curriculum Objectives.
  • To carry out Manual Handling assessments for Young People
  • Liaise with colleagues who use the facilities
  • Ensure you follow all Health and Safety policies and procedures to ensure all users of the pool are safe in their sessions
  • In the event sessions are unable to take place, work alongside the Education Assistants in the school to arrange suitable physical activities as a alternative
  • Under the direction of the Aquatics Manager, maintain records of those who use the pool.
  • Assist in all personal care for the Young People before and after the swimming sessions
  • Deliver excellent customer service at all times
  • Train colleagues in pupil support methods in the Aquatics environment.
  • Ensure you have appropriate and up to date National Pool Lifeguard Qualification, attending any relevant training that will support in keeping knowledge and skills up to date.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential:

  • ASA/ STA Level 2 Teaching Aquatics
  • Previous experience in care or a teach/ coaching position within leisure
  • Supervisory experience
  • Good awareness of Health and Safety issues
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Leadership Skills
  • IT and Administration skills
  • Kind and caring disposition
  • Ability to work on a flexible shift rota

Other useful skills and experience:

  • National Pool Lifeguarding Qualification
  • Pool Plant Operations Certificate
  • Lifeguarding Experience
  • Pervious experience within a leisure or club setting.
