Nigel Wright is delighted to be supporting a recognised brand in the building products sector in the recruitment of an Area sales manager, the role will be home based with flexibility on location nationwide.

Role
The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for managing a  geographical region with defined key accounts. Your primary focus will be on driving profitable, sustainable sales growth and contributing to the achievement of the annual operating plan for the business unit. You will represent the organisation as the area lead, implementing sales strategies defined by the Sales Director and commercial leadership team. Building and maintaining strong, long-lasting customer relationships will be crucial, along with continuous improvement aligned with core values.

Responsibilities:
Sales Growth:
Drive above-market sales growth within the area, building and developing a strong sales pipeline and ensuring targeted and budgeted sales are met or exceeded in terms of volume, mix, margin, and EBITDA. Responsible for setting strategy for your territory, identifying, mapping out and approaching key installers in these areas.  The role will be a mix of account management, growing and developing existing accounts and new business development. 
Relationship Management: Cultivate mutually beneficial relationships with clients at all levels, including senior management.
Strategic Implementation: Develop and implement sales strategies aligned with organizational goals.
Service Enhancement: Collaborate with internal departments to improve and enhance the service offerings.
Demand Forecasting: Provide accurate feedback on area forecast demand (monthly, quarterly, and annually).
Product and Marketing Development: Manage strategic product and marketing programs to enhance sales opportunities.
Adaptation to Industry Changes: Stay informed about changes in Building Regulations, legislation, competitors, and relevant building developments.

Experience

Sector Experience: Whilst building products experience may be an advantage it is not an essential requirement.
Client-Facing Experience: Proven track record of effectively engaging with clients.
Goal-Oriented: Experienced in building and developing a territory, used to working in a target driven environment and achieving profitable sales growth.
Sales approach: This role will suit individuals with a real proactive, hunter approach.
Influencing Skills: Strong ability to influence and negotiate
Effective Communication: Direct, open, charismatic communication style with the ability to influence at all levels.
Analytical Capability: Proficient in analysing data and making informed decisions.
IT Literacy: Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Presentation and Negotiation: Strong presentation and negotiation abilities
