Role Purpose

The Asset Protection Advisor uses experience, industry intelligence and technology to identify, evaluate and reduce the risk of theft and damage to customers’ vehicles. A forward-thinking team player, with a high regard for customer service, they will work closely with the Director to help ensure we continue to respond effectively to changing vehicle theft trends and react swiftly when a vehicle is reported stolen. With a proven investigatory background, they will be confident in locating and recovering stolen vehicles, dealing with law enforcement agencies, and providing high quality evidence in court when required.

Some of your core focus areas will include:
  • Having responsibility for the recovery of stolen vehicles for customers and business partners
  • Accountability for the recovery of vehicles from customers where there is an identified risk the vehicle may be deliberately damaged or stolen
  • Assisting in the reduction of insurance claims by identifying and reducing the risk of injury, theft, and damage to vehicles on hire for business partners
  • Evaluating the risks to business partners’ vehicles, complete risk assessments and complete vehicles recoveries  
  • Utilisation of all available tools, including inhouse databases to identify and action threats of fraudulent activity against business partners
  • Gathering, evaluating and where appropriate, sharing industry intelligence with internal and external stakeholders which helps to reduce the threat of theft and motor insurance fraud
  • Building professional external relationships with law enforcement agencies and other parties involved in vehicle protection and insurance fraud prevention
  • Acting as a specialist point of contact for enquiries from law enforcement agencies where telematics data is required under the appropriate legislation
  • Presenting evidence and attending civil and criminal courts when required on behalf of the company

Our Asset Protection Advisor will bring the following skills, behaviours, and experiences to our team:
  • Excellent influencing and communication skills with the ability to develop strong business relationships with all key stakeholders 
  • Experience of criminal and/or civil investigations and presenting evidence 
  • Demonstrable experience in risk management 
  • Knowledge of how intelligence can be legally shared
  • IT competent in using MS Office, MS Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Knowledge of telematics and connected car data
  • Effective time management and planning skills with ability to prioritise and recognise importance and urgency of workload 
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility of approach when problem solving 
  • Ability to work under pressure when required
  • Ability to question decisions, detail conscious with a logical, problem-solving thought process 

Along with a salary of £31,824, Company Car and On-Call bonus you will also receive a range of benefits including 22 days holiday (plus bank holidays), rising to 27 with length of service, Bupa Healthcare, Life Insurance at 4 x salary, Employee Assistance Programmes, and ongoing professional development.
