This growing residential property developer is currently seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis in this newly created role. Reporting into a Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible for providing critical financial support you a designated portfolio of properties for both internal and external stakeholders.

The key duties of this Assistant Accountant (Rent & Service Charge) are as follows:

  • Deputise for the Finance Business Partner in the annual budget setting process for your area, agreeing final numbers with Cost Centre Managers.
  • Calculate accurate service charge estimations for your region, highlighting any issues or discrepancies as soon as they are discovered and producing timely adjustments to counteract these.
  • Reconcile service charge actuals against the budgets on an annual basis analysing any variances that there may be.
  • Ensure the timely provision of data for your area to the Auditors at year end.
  • Act as the main point of contact for numerous internal and external queries.

This is a wonderful opportunity for an ambitious finance professional with service charge, rents or leasehold experience who is excited at the prospect of putting their own stamp on an ever evolving role, which they can shape in line with their future career trajectory. Furthermore, this role will officially be based out of their offices in Bradford, although opportunities to work from home will be on offer for up to four days per week.

The successful candidate will have:

  • An AAT Qualification or equivalent. Candidates who can demonstrate they are qualified by experience are still encouraged to apply.
  • Experience in rents / service charge / leasehold or equivalent.
  • Ideally, a background working in the social housing sector. Candidates with relevant experience from other sectors will still be considered.
  • Excellent customer service experience and strong attention to detail.
