Assistant Accountant - £28,000 / £35,000 - Abingdon

An Introduction to the Company and Role:

Wade Macdonald are currently working with a dynamic company who are looking for an experienced finance professional to join their fast-paced finance team who are dedicated to delivering accurate and timely financial information. As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day financial operations, including month-end and year-end processes, VAT reporting, and balance sheet reconciliations.

What will be the responsibilities in this role?

• Leading the month-end close process and preparing management accounts for multiple legal entities across various countries.
• Conducting balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Managing intercompany trading and sundry balances, ensuring discrepancies are addressed and resolved.
• Maintaining fixed asset registers.
• Preparing data for VAT
• Reporting sales for the EMEA region

What experience do you need?

• AAT qualification (or equivalent experience).
• Demonstrable experience in a similar accounting role.

• Advanced IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong accounting background with experience in ERP systems; knowledge of Dynamics 365 is a plus.
