Assistant Accountant

Hays are recruiting for a leading provider and medical manufacturer based in Cheshire, who are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their team on a 9-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.

Your new role

You will assist in the preparation of monthly management reports and forecasts, as well as compile financial information including budgets and statutory accounts.

In addition, on a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for:

• Assist with the preparation of management accounts,
• Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
• Support budgeting and financial reporting processes.
• Handles VAT Returns and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Collaborate and communicate with various departments to provide financial insights and support.
• Assist with cashflow management.

What you'll need to succeed

This role requires an individual who can start at short notice and has experience in a similar position. You will possess strong numerical and technical skills, along with excellent communication abilities both on the phone and via email.
