Sewell Wallis are representing one of our clients, who are based near Rochdale, to appoint an experienced Assistant Finance Manager to join their team.

This role has arisen as the business is in the process of creating a new support team for finance, so this successful person will report to their new Finance Manager who joined the business recently.

To be considered you must be comfortable with the month-end process and ideally be ACCA or CIMA Part-Qualified - as the role also includes supervisory duties, if you have managed or supervised before then that would also be a plus!

This opportunity would be brilliant for an eager and driven individual who is eager to build on their skill set, as there's tons of scope for the right person to progress within the business.

What will you be doing?

  • Financial Reporting
  • Assisting with the monthly management accounts process; accruals, prepayments, journals, fixed assets, etc.
  • Sole responsibility for budgeting, forecasting and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Supervision of one Accounts Assistant
  • Variance analysis
  • Work with all areas of transactional finance as necessary, and support during peak times
  • Assist the Finance Manager as required
  • Provide financial information to senior stakeholders and senior managers when requested

What skills are we looking for?

  • Part-qualified CIMA, ACCA or ACA
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Strong experience in management accounts
  • Good Excel skills
  • A strong communicator who is self-motivated and enthusiastic
