Ascent Recruitment is excited to exclusively partner with a well-established and expanding manufacturing company near Newton le Willows to find an Assistant Accountant with experience in the manufacturing sector.

Reporting to a fantastic Financial Controller, this role offers a great opportunity for an experienced transactional accountant to take on new responsibilities, including full ownership of the transactional finance function and involvement in month-end processes.

Key Responsibilities:-

  • Oversee the smooth operation of the Accounts Payable function, ensuring accuracy in supplier invoices.
  • Conduct daily bank reconciliations
  • Raise and distribute weekly sales invoices to customers.
  • Prepare and process cash receipts, matching them to the relevant invoices in line with payments received.
  • Help to implement and maintain robust financial controls
  • Perform month-end reconciliations.

Key Experience:-

  • Minimum of 2 years in a similar role.
  • Experience in a finance role within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Good numeracy and IT skills
  • Proven experience in implementing process improvements.
  • ERP system experience

Salary and Benefits:-

  • £30,000 per annum
  • 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Hybrid working
  • Free parking on-site
