Butler Rose is seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Accountant with strong numerical skills and a commitment to accuracy. This role is perfect for someone with a professional curiosity and a desire to learn, paired with excellent organisational abilities to manage multiple tasks effectively.

We are looking for candidates who ideally hold a minimum Level 4 AAT qualification or are currently studying towards ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent). Previous experience in a similar finance role would be an advantage.

Full study support towards your qualifications will be provided upon successful completion of your probation period.

* Training will be offered should you not have all the required experience
* Office based, flexible start times are available

Key Responsibilities:
* Daily bank postings and weekly bank reconciliations
* Intercompany reconciliations and overhead reporting
* Business partnering with other departments to ensure financial accuracy
* Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet accounts
* Participating in the month-end close process, including tasks like prepayments, accruals, and fixed assets management
* Preparing and filing external returns (VAT, Duty, Tax, surveys) to meet regulatory requirements
* Assisting the Finance Manager with cash forecasting
* Supporting both external and internal audit processes
* Contributing to the preparation of budgets and forecasts
* Assisting the Finance Manager in improving financial policies and procedures

Your Skills & Qualifications:
* Minimum Level 4 AAT qualification
* Adaptable, quick to learn, and open to change
* Intermediate Excel skills (including lookups and pivot tables)
* Strong time management, planning, and organisational skills with attention to detail
* Self-motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Approachable, a team player, and passionate about finance
