Assistant Accountant (fixed term contract)– North Oxfordshire – £35,000 to £38,000 - Hybrid

About the Job

Working closely with the Finance Manager, the Assistant Accountant will support day-to-day finance operations while gaining exposure to a wide range of transactional and month-end responsibilities.

Duties will include:

  • Supporting month-end processes, including accruals, prepayments and journal postings
  • Assisting with balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany accounts
  • Processing supplier invoices and preparing payment runs
  • Maintaining and updating fixed asset registers
  • Assisting with VAT returns and supporting audit queries
  • Producing financial reports and analysis as required
  • Acting as a first point of contact for two Finance Assistants, offering day-to-day support and oversight
  • Liaising with other departments to ensure accuracy of financial data

About the Successful Applicant

You will have experience working in a finance function, ideally studying towards AAT, ACCA or CIMA. A confident communicator with strong Excel skills and excellent attention to detail.
