The Community has been running for over 50 years and is a nationally recognised specialist residential service for adults with complex mental health support needs. We are an organisation of six small care homes located in Totnes and Plymouth who are supported by a large, experienced management and staff team.

We are looking for a highly motivated, skilled Assistant Manager to join our team. They will work alongside a Registered Manager in managing a small care home (8 bed rated 'Good’ by CQC) in Plymouth.

Requirement:-

Good understanding of person-centred outcome-based care and support provision.
An ability to build strong working relationships with service users, families/carers, commissioners, and involved professionals.
The ability to work to high standards and prioritise under pressure
A positive and resilient attitude with the ability to lead and inspire a team of residential support workers.
Be part of our paid on-call rota of Managers, providing out of hours advice and support across the organisation.
Good IT skills along with excellent written and verbal communication skill commensurate with the role.
An ability to liaise with professionals and participate in the professional meetings.
To support the Registered Manager in any required administrative duties, i.e. care and risk management plans.
To be able to confidently delegate and direct staff teams.
Full driving licence/Working towards gaining licence imminently

Desirable:-

Good understanding of CQC regulations, the Mental Capacity Act and the Care Act and how to transfer these into working practice.
NVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care

In return we offer:-

A salary of circa £30k (dependent on, on-call participation and driving bonus).
