Job Title: Assistant Commercial Planner

Contract: Full-time (37 hours per week), permanent

Operating from a cutting-edge facility in Sheffield, our client produces high-integrity forged components in nickel alloy, titanium, stainless steel, and carbon alloys. Their products serve a variety of sectors, including aerospace, nuclear, power generation, marine, and oil and gas.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Commercial Planner to join their dynamic team. This role is perfect for a recent graduate eager to embark on a rewarding career in a reputable engineering company known for nurturing talent and supporting career progression.

As my client's Assistant Commercial Planner, you will gain valuable experience working across multiple functions on-site, providing you with a comprehensive understanding of various roles within the company. This position has previously led to promotions into roles such as Commercial Planner, Business Analyst, Design Engineer, Sales Executive, and Software Developer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative support for the sales and production control teams
  • Conduct sales contract reviews on orders
  • Input sales data into the Access System and Sales Enquiry System
  • Maintain an up-to-date filing system
  • Administer export compliance documentation
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with suppliers regarding the price and availability of materials
  • Raise material purchase orders and expedite materials when necessary
  • Issue work orders to production
  • Perform general office duties such as faxing, photocopying, and handling post
  • Provide administrative cover for other departments as required
  • Undertake other duties as reasonably requested by management
About You:
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong numerical skills and proficiency in Excel
  • Organizational and planning abilities
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Educated to degree level
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Desirable:
  • Basic knowledge of metals and the forging environment
