Job Title: Assistant Ecologist

Salary: £24,000 - £26,000

Locations: Hampshire

We are looking for an Assistant Ecologist to join a leading rail contractor in Hampshire. This is an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Ecologist to gain invaluable experience in the sector, and become part of a team where your professional development matters.

As an Assistant Ecologist, your duties will be to:

  • Provide support and in-depth guidance in many aspects of ecological conservation.
  • Advise on habitat management and current wildlife legislation, as required.
  • Produce technical reports in a timely manner and to a high standard.
  • Undertake ecological surveying and logistics planning at a variety of sites, as required.
  • Undertake Preliminary Ecological Assessments (PEAs), Ecological Impact Assessments (ECiAs) and Habitat Regulations Assessments (HRAs).

To be considered for the Assistant Ecologist position you will need:

  • Degree in a relevant subject
  • Ecological consultancy experience
  • One or more protected species licences, or be working towards them
  • Hold membership with CIEEM
