About the Role:

Our client, Daytona Milton Keynes, is currently looking for an Assistant Head of Engineering for their 7-day operational business. As the Assistant Head of Engineering, you will assist the Head of Engineering in managing all engineering functions for the department in line with company policies and guidelines. You will oversee the safe and smooth running of the workshop and deputize in the absence of the Head of Engineering.


Key Responsibilities:

Assist in managing all engineering functions in accordance with company policies and guidelines.
Oversee the safe and smooth operation of the workshop.
Deputize for the Head of Engineering as needed.
Maintain karts to the highest standards of safety.
Ensure all paperwork is kept up to date on a daily basis and completed within required timescales.
Manage correct staffing levels at all events.
Communicate confidently with suppliers and colleagues across the group.

The Successful Candidate Must:

Have mechanical experience within the corporate/race kart or motorsport sectors.
Be flexible and able to work evenings and weekends in addition to weekdays.
Be able to follow instructions quickly and effectively.
Be highly motivated and work well in a team.
Have previous mechanical experience along with a thorough understanding of engineering principles.
Have a thorough understanding of kart maintenance carried out to the required specification.
Have previous supervisory experience to manage a small team.
Have excellent communication skills.
Be able to work with minimum supervision.
Have excellent problem-solving abilities, quickly and efficiently.
Have maintenance-level mechanical and engineering experience.
Have a basic concept of stock and budget control (training will be provided).
Applicants MUST have their own tools and be willing to purchase any additional tools required for daily maintenance on the karts.
Be flexible and adaptable in their approach to work.

Training:

Training will be provided in all areas of the role. Flexibility with working hours is essential to meet company needs.
