Job Title: Assistant Management Accountant

Location: Bristol, BS1 (hybrid working available)

Contract: Fixed-Term Contract - 9 months

Start Date: Immediate

Job Summary:

We're looking for a part-qualified Assistant Management Accountant to join our team on a 9-month fixed-term basis. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a strong grounding in core accounting tasks and month-end reporting. The role reports directly to the Financial Controller - MGA's & Networks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing monthly management accounts, including:
• Revenue recognition,
• Posting staff costs, expenses, and other cost of sales,
• Managing accruals, prepayments, and month-end journals,
• Reconciling key balance sheet accounts.
• Processing payments for day-to-day operating expenses via online banking.
• Reconcile bank and cash transactions to ensure all records are up-to-date and accurate.
• Assisting with cash flow forecasting and monitoring.
• Supporting variance analysis and commentary for board and management reporting.
• Assisting with audit queries and supporting year-end processes.
• Collaborating with other departments to gather financial information and respond to queries.
• Support ad-hoc financial projects, including process improvements and system enhancements.

About You:

• Part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, AAT or equivalent) with relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Good working knowledge of Excel and finance systems.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
• Ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines.
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative working style.

Desirable Skills:

Prior experience in financial services or insurance is helpful but not essential.
