Your new role

Reporting to the Management accountant and ultimately the Group Finance Director, the role of assistant accountant will assist with the preparation of financial transactions to aid the preparation of the management accounts to allow accurate reporting and provision of quality financial information to stakeholders.

Duties of the role

  • Assist in the preparation of balance sheets, profit & loss accounts, and other key financial reports.
  • Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ensure payments to suppliers are processed on time and supplier accounts are reconciled.
  • Help prepare tax returns, including VAT and other relevant filings.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure accurate inventory and WIP valuation.
  • Verify and reconcile stock, ensuring accurate valuations and addressing any discrepancies.

What you'll need 

To be successful for this role, you will need to have achieved your AAT level 4 and have previous experience working as an assistant accountant within the manufacturing or FMCG industries
