Salary £45,000 Basic - Mon- Friday 8am -5pm day shift.

My client is a Devon based leading organisation within the recycling industry. Employing 150 people over 4 sites including their own recycling MRFs (Materials Recovery Facilities) they have been offering recycling and waste management services to businesses, households and local authorities across Devon for over 29 years.

Role: Assistant MRF Manager

Reporting to the MRF Manager.

As a Materials Recovery Facility Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for supervising a 20 strong team along with assisting in the day to day running of operations within the MRF and all aspects of health and safety within the MRF and other sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the operation is running as efficiently and productively as possible.
• Quality control of outbound loads -ready for re-processing.
• Optimise existing processes.
• Support MRF Manger ensuring compliance of all operations, permits and licences.
• Ensure site Health & Safety is always adhered to.
• Lead, develop and motivate the team across the site and services.
• Proactively lead change.
• Guide and support Supervisory Staff with regular reviews on a six-monthly basis.
• Personal development plans are agreed and implemented.
• Ensure that the Group’s Health and Safety procedures, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) systems are integrated with organisational requirements and are always complied with in order to retain all relevant ISO certification.
• Work towards financial performance of the respective P&L’s for all business operations in your area of responsibility, to achieve budget targets.
• Review daily, weekly & monthly KPIs against target and discuss with the teams to ensure maximum performance

Qualifications

Desirable (Not essential)

• IOSH/NEBOSH
• Degree level qualification or equivalent

Experience Required

Essential

• Waste Operations experience.
• Working within an industrial machinery environment.
• lead motivated and developed teams.
• Worked to deadlines and KPIs.

Experience - Desirable (Not essential) •

• Waste/Recycling Industry.
• Experience of managing P&Ls and setting budgets.
