Working Hours: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform microtomy and support in cut up.
  • Assist in the preparation and processing of clinical specimens for diagnostic testing.
  • Participate in routine staining and the facilitation of work requests.
  • Supervise and support Band 2 and 3 Medical Laboratory Assistants.
  • Participate in the training of new staff.
  • Manage specimen workflow in sample reception on a rotational basis.
  • Oversee stock levels throughout the department.
  • Work independently, managing your own workload, with supervision available as needed.
Essential Requirements:
  • Experience working in a laboratory setting, particularly in Histopathology.
  • Competence in microtomy and routine staining techniques.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Desirable Skills:
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Experience in training and mentoring staff.
