Are you looking to develop your career in quantity surveying within a forward-thinking engineering solutions business? We are seeking an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our growing commercial team based in Sheffield. We will also consider Graduate Quantity Surveyors for this position

The Role

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial management of a diverse portfolio of engineering projects from tender through to final account. Working closely with an experienced Commercial Manager, you will gain valuable hands-on experience and mentorship to develop your skills and progress your career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the preparation of cost plans, budgets, and tender documents
  • Supporting the management of subcontractor procurement and payment processes
  • Monitoring project costs and reporting on financial performance
  • Assisting with the preparation and submission of valuations and variations
  • Maintaining accurate records and supporting the preparation of final accounts
  • Working collaboratively with project teams, clients, and suppliers

About You

We are looking for a proactive and motivated individual with a keen interest in the engineering and construction industry.

Essential:

  • Degree qualified (or working towards) in Quantity Surveying
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to learn
  • Competent in Microsoft Office packages (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • Previous experience within an engineering, construction, or infrastructure environment
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts
