The Role
In this role, you’ll play a central role in curriculum leadership, spiritual development, and school improvement through strategic initiatives, faith-based events, and staff development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Religious Education Faculty and its curriculum
- Drive and promote Catholic life, values, and mission throughout the school
- Oversee Section 48 inspection preparations and Catholic life initiatives
- Support, mentor and develop staff across the department
- Monitor teaching standards, conduct lesson observations, and provide feedback
- Develop RE policies and ensure inclusivity and high-quality learning for all students
- Facilitate parental, staff, and student engagement with RE and Catholic ethos
- Manage assessment frameworks to monitor student progress and outcomes
- Build relationships with external Catholic education networks and exam boards

The Ideal Candidate:
We’re looking for a compassionate, strategic, and inspiring leader and brings experience, clarity, and commitment to our school mission. About you:
- QTS and a relevant degree (NPQSL or NPQH desirable)
- A practising Catholic faith (essential requirement)
- Extensive experience in Catholic secondary education
- Strong curriculum leadership and proven school improvement record
- Experience preparing for Section 48 inspections (desirable)
- Excellent communication, coaching, and mentoring skills
- Confidence to challenge, innovate, and lead with integrity
- Passion for student welfare and staff development
- A proactive and values-led leadership style
