A leading investment manager with over $50bn AUM are looking for an Associate with 2-4 years experience to join their Secondaries team.

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior team members on the acquisition and management of credit secondary investments.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deal Sourcing and Evaluation:

    • Assist in identifying and evaluating credit secondary investment opportunities.
    • Conduct detailed financial and operational due diligence on potential investments.
    • Analyse and assess credit risk, market conditions, and investment viability.
  2. Financial Modelling and Analysis:

    • Develop and maintain detailed financial models to support investment decisions.
    • Perform scenario analysis and stress testing to evaluate investment performance under various conditions.
    • Prepare comprehensive investment memos and presentations for the investment committee.
  3. Transaction Execution:

    • Support all aspects of the transaction process, including structuring, negotiation, and documentation.
    • Work closely with legal, compliance, and other internal teams to ensure smooth execution of deals.
    • Coordinate with external advisors, including investment bankers, consultants, and legal counsel.
  4. Portfolio Management:

    • Monitor and manage the performance of existing investments, including regular review of financial performance and covenant compliance.
    • Identify and implement strategies to enhance value and mitigate risk within the portfolio.
    • Prepare regular reports and updates for senior management and investors.
  5. Market Research and Strategy:

    • Conduct ongoing market research to stay informed of industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive dynamics.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in credit analysis, investment banking, private equity, or a related field.
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; experience with financial databases and research tools is a plus.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience in credit secondaries or distressed debt investing.
  • Knowledge of legal documentation and transaction structuring.
  • Strong network within the investment and finance community.
  • Demonstrated interest in and knowledge of the credit markets.
