Job Title: Associate Finance Business Partner

Contract Type: Temporary

Contract Length: 6 months

Location: Pride Quarter, Liverpool

Are you a skilled Finance Business Partner with a passion for stakeholder engagement? Our client, a leading education establishment in Liverpool, is seeking an Associate Finance Business Partner to join their team. Responsibilities:

Attend regular meetings with budget holders and stakeholders to review forecast out-turn against budgets/targets, proactively identifying and explaining variances as needed, and escalating any issues.
Communicate technical, business, and financial information to internal and external stakeholders using effective methods.
Monitor actual income/expenditure and provide guidance to senior staff for adjusting planned expenditure.
Deliver timely, accurate, and relevant management information to support effective budget and project management.
Collaborate with the executive leadership team and budget holders, providing training and guidance when necessary to ensure effective budget management.
Prepare and input accruals/prepayments for month-end reporting.
Enhance information provided to budget holders by producing Power BI reports.
Support staff in costing potential new Research and Enterprise activity in collaboration with the Finance Business Operations team.
Ensure project costings comply with sponsors' terms and conditions and align with strategic objectives.
Liaise with the Finance Business Operations team to meet the requirements of external funders and regulators.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and procedures, monitoring and escalating any issues.
Develop business partnering networks to improve financial management standards.
Drive continual improvement of financial stewardship and control by upskilling budget holders and building relationships with stakeholders.
Ensure accurate recording of costs and income in the organisation's finance system and address any errors.
Assist in year-end procedures and schedules, supporting the preparation of statutory accounts.
Perform any other duties commensurate with the grade as deemed necessary by the line manager.

Requirements:

Previous experience as a Finance Business Partner or similar role.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in financial management systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Power BI.
Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
