A successful and local accountancy practice based in Bridgwater are currently looking to employ a Tax enthusiast trainee to join them for a two-year ATT apprenticeship, with further development upon completion of this. 

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior tax professionals with various tasks. This might involve data entry related to tax preparation, preparing basic tax calculations, or researching specific tax issues.
  • Gain exposure to different areas of taxation, including corporate tax, personal income tax (PAYE), and preparing tax returns.
  • Learn about accounting principles as they relate to taxation.
  • Communicate with clients to gather information or respond to inquiries (may involve some correspondence with HMRC, the UK tax authority).
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports and presentations related to tax matters.

Development and Qualifications

  • As an ATT trainee, you'll be expected to work towards obtaining the ATT qualification (offered by the Association of Taxation Technicians), a stepping stone to becoming a chartered tax advisor (CTA). 
  • The role emphasises strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

You will need to of achieved A-C grades at GCSE and A Level or higher

Overall, an ATT trainee role is a great way to launch your career in tax. It provides a combination of on-the-job training, exposure to various tax areas, and the opportunity to earn a professional qualification.

This is a two-year training contract in order to achieve your ATT. After the successful completion of this training contract, the practice would hope to move the successful candidates onto a permanent contract of employment and potentially offer CTA study support down the line.
