Job Title: Audio Director

Position Summary: The Audio Director will be responsible for overseeing the strategic development, production, and management of audio content. This role requires a deep understanding of the publishing or audio industry and extensive experience with Direct Insertion Orders (IO). The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader, a creative visionary, and an expert in managing complex audio projects and campaigns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership:

    • Develop and execute comprehensive audio strategies that align with business objectives and drive audience engagement and growth.
    • Analyze market trends, audience insights, and competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions.
    • Identify and leverage new opportunities for audio content innovation and expansion.
  • Audio Production Oversight:

    • Lead the production of high-quality audio content, including podcasts, audiobooks, and other audio formats.
    • Ensure all audio content meets the highest quality standards and adheres to brand guidelines.
    • Manage the entire audio production process, from concept to final delivery.
  • Direct IO Campaign Management:

    • Plan, negotiate, and oversee the execution of Direct Insertion Orders (IO) for audio campaigns.
    • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of Direct IO campaigns.
    • Monitor and analyze campaign performance, making data-driven adjustments to optimize results.
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration:

    • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing audio production team.
    • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture.
    • Work closely with content creators, editors, producers, and other stakeholders to ensure cohesive and efficient audio production workflows.
  • Project Management:

    • Oversee multiple audio projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
    • Utilize project management tools to track progress and deliverables.
    • Proactively address and resolve any issues that arise during the production process.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Partner with marketing, sales, and creative teams to ensure alignment and synergy in audio initiatives.
    • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key partners, vendors, and stakeholders.
    • Communicate audio strategy, progress, and results to senior leadership and other relevant parties.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Audio Production, Communications, Marketing, or a related field. An advanced degree is a plus.
  • Significant experience in the audio or publishing industry with a strong track record of successful audio projects.
  • Expertise in managing Direct IO campaigns and a deep understanding of industry standards and best practices.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in leveraging data to drive strategic decisions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with audio production software and project management tools.
