Spencer Clarke Group are excited to be working closely with a well-established Chartered Accounting firm based in Huddersfield. A firm who has been around for over an incredible 100 years!


Our client is seeking a Audit Manager to join their excellent and expanding team within their firm.
As an Audit Manager, you will be taking on a varied portfolio of SME clients, you will be responsible for managing client-relationships and productivity levels whilst also delivering an exceptional audit and assurance service.


You will also be responsible for overseeing the audit process, delivering management reports and recommendations to clients and maintaining technical standards.


Additionally, you will mentor the junior members of the team, it will be your responsibility to brief staff on any ongoing business, conduct appraisal and help develop staff members, whilst ensuring work is completed to strict deadlines.

Your key day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a portfolio of clients and delivering high quality audit and assurance services, including preparing and reviewing audit plans.
  • Identifying ways to maximise the relationship with the client and delivering added value where necessary.
  • Delegating workflow, reviewing work, and providing training to junior members of the Audit Team.
  • Directly reporting into key stakeholders to update on Audit findings.
  • Assisting with new client tenders


Relevant experience you will hold:

  • Practice experience essential
  • Knowledge of CCH suite would be preferred but not essential
  • Knowledge of Sage/Xero/QBO
  • Experience of meeting regular filing deadlines
  • Ability to work well within a team
  • Study packages are available
  • Further study options would be considered if required


Qualifications required include:

  • AAT qualified or Qualified by Experience
  • Basic computer skills in Word and Excel
  • Eligibility to work in the UK

  • Standard working week is 37.5 hours 8.30am - 5.00pm with an hours lunch (phone number removed)pm
