My client, based in Braintree, is seeking an Autocad Draughts person to join their team.

The successful candidate should have two years of experience in manufacturing and two years of experience working with Autocad or something similar.

Doorset or carpentry design experience is preferred, or any equivalent combination of training or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Education to A Levels or equivalent as well as design qualifications is also preferred.

The successful candidate must be flexible to work outside of core hours if required and they must be willing to partake in infrequent travel if required.

Job Responsibilities include:

Safety

• Performing all tasks in a safe manner, keeping in mind safety on the job at all times.
• All products, processes and procedures implemented will be safe operations, and when possible will increase the safe working environment of our colleagues.

Drawing

• Producing highly accurate drawings and schedules to meet the client's requirements on each specific project.
• Analysing client's requirements and ensuring they fall within relevant certification. When they do not work, pro-actively with the client to come to be best solution for all parties and action same.
• Identifying any commercial changes to a project during the design process and ensuring the client is made aware, with any issues being resolved before the order goes into production.
• Ensuring all drawings and schedules are issued correctly to all relevant parties with records of all revisions and making sure that everything is filed properly in the drawing server for access.

People

• A successful candidate will work with all areas of the business to ensure drawing works are carried out in good time with regular feedback
• Liaising with clients directly to ascertain their needs when producing a drawing and scheduling package

Cost

• Ensuring that project changes made are investigated for maximum financial benefit to the business and to the client's satisfaction.

General

• The successful candidate will be able to manage multiple activities at any time, analysing the priorities of the business to organise their own work.
• They should be target and delivery date focused to deliver packages and improvements within defined time-frames
• They will be able to look at existing process's and identify improvements, bring them to the business's attention and then action them to the benefit of the business.
