We are looking for passionate and dedicated midwives to work in a vibrant maternity team at one of the largest and busiest trusts in South London.
Job Summary:The post holder will provide autonomous, evidence-based, women-centred midwifery care, while working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, other agencies, representatives, and service users. They will support other midwives within the service, which may include management responsibility for midwifery practice or the team in the absence of the Band 7 Midwife.
Description:Clinical:- Provide individualized, family-centered midwifery care, facilitating informed decision-making for families.
- Complete and document risk assessments, follow guidelines, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team.
- Ensure clinical records are compliant and engage in continuous professional development and mandatory training.
- Maintain and report equipment status, manage department supplies, and ensure proper use and storage.
- Safekeep drugs according to Trust policy and handle the collection of statistics and data related to midwifery practice.
- Report anticipated deficiencies in stock.
- Manage workload and team in the absence of a Band 7 Midwife.
- Participate in staff orientation and appraisals.
- Supervise midwives, support team members, and provide guidance.
- Facilitate student learning, evaluate performance, and assist in achieving learning objectives.
- Valid NMC registration as a midwife.
- Proven experience in midwifery practice.
- Proficient level of theoretical midwifery knowledge.
- Experience working in all clinical areas.
- Ability to contribute to the development of students, midwives, and oneself.
- Excellent communication skills, able to relate and communicate with patients and staff at all levels and from different professions, adapting communication style as needed.
