We are currently recruiting for a 3–5 year PQE Finance Associate on a 6-9 month fixed-term contract basis, on behalf of our client, a highly regarded US law firm.

Working closely with the partners in the London office, the successful applicant will take responsibility for managing parts of transactions and supervising junior members of the team.

The team advise banks, financial institutions, alternative lenders, borrowers, sponsors, corporate trustees, and debt investors on all aspects of debt and finance arrangements, often in varied and complex debt capital structures, including structured debt, leveraged finance, single and multiple asset finance, receivables purchasing and secondary market transactions. The lawyers have a broad range of experience across all sectors, including, general lending, commercial real estate finance (investment and development), leveraged finance, venture debt/mezzanine finance, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital transactions in a variety of jurisdictions, so the incoming candidate will enjoy a varied and broad workload.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Developing strong negotiation skills on key clauses in finance documents.
  • Drafting and dealing with conditions precedent, and general transaction management.
  • Developing client relationships; communicating options, outcomes, risks and timescales.
  • Liaising with opposing counsel when required.
  • Developing new business for the team.

Suitable applicants will be an England & Wales qualified solicitor with strong experience amassed from a City law firm in one or more of the following areas: Real Estate Finance, Leveraged Finance, Structured Finance and/or General Corporate Banking transactions.

A competitive salary (pro-rata) is on offer and hybrid working arrangements are in place.
