The Role
This role is to work as a part of the company’s VT team, ensuring all VT equipment sent to jobs is fully operational and correctly loaded.
Main Duties
- Ensure that the operational needs of the OB base operation in Greenford are met effectively and that the equipment loaded is as requested by the Equipment Scheduling Team and wider VT Department.
- Respond to all staff in a positive, friendly, and proactive manner.
- To assist and work with the Equipment Scheduling and Stores Teams in order to fulfil all VT requirements for each OB.
- Maintain and operate equipment in OB trucks and the warehouse. This may include opening, closing, and powering trucks (when trained), installing and removing kit, checking the trucks have the VT equipment required.
- Ensure tenders and scanners have the correct kit assigned to them, including hired equipment.
- Ensure all equipment is checked in when returning from OBs and returned to the correct locations.
- Ensure that technical faults are identified and logged, faulty equipment is taken out of service and that it’s repair is actioned.
- Implement alternative technical solutions to faults as required.
- Carry out basic maintenance on VT equipment.
- Engage with suppliers for service agreements, repairs, and to order spares.
- Replenish consumable stock when it runs out, liaising with the Head of Department.
- Comply with all safety regulations and ensure the electronic equipment is maintained to defined standards and keep appropriate records.
- To attend training were applicable and to conduct own training were applicable.
- Constantly look to innovate and improve the kit management and storage.
- Make sure all VT kit is packaged and asset labelled properly.
- To learn the usage of Xytech Media Pulse (their scheduling and asset management software) and its operation.
Skills and Qualifications
- Good interpersonal skills, able to react tactfully and sympathetically to requests from OB teams and other staff.
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work effectively as part of a team.
