Business Development Manager - Pharmaceutical

This is a permanent opportunity paying a negotiable salary, car allowance plus bonus.

Kenton Black Scientific is a recruitment partner to a global Pharmaceutical contract testing laboratory based in UK. They are looking to hire an experienced business development manager to join their team who will be responsible for managing business development activities within UK.

Responsibilities:
• Responsible for identification and winning of laboratory services business to achieve business plan with allocated markets/clients.
• Assists the Director of Business Development with preparation of wider strategic business planning.
• Contract / commercial management.
• Coaching/mentoring of commercial team members.
• Development of commercial and market awareness initiatives for all staff.
• Account Development planning. Analysis of clients’ organisation and activities to assess the potential requirements that the clients may have.
• Responsible for bring in new business in accordance with company strategy
• Generate new leads and increase up selling
• Responsible for efficiently managing existing client portfolios/ account management
• To provide marketing information to the management team on competitor’s activity and new business opportunities.
• Provide input on reporting, forecasting and planning market intelligence and new business activities
• To undertake price reviews and annual renegotiation of commercial agreements.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Business Administration or Life Sciences
• Proven experience in working as a business development manager within scientific industry – i.e pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical or biotechnology.
• Track record of engaging with corporate organisations is advantageous
• Proven networking skills – must be able to network internally across all functions and externally with client organizations, other service providers and industry bodies.
• Must be able to influence and be credible at a senior level within client organizations.
• Excellent presentation, communication and written skills
• Excellent experience time management
• Experience in working within target driven environment
• Ability to successfully present information regarding company services to the clients
• Current and valid driving license.
