Business Development Manager Food Wholesalers £30-45k + bonus, co car + excellent benefits FMCG URGENT

Hybrid role 3 DAY OFFICE (Essex) This role is covering the UK and Scotland

Overall purpose of job:

Driving business growth and expanding market share for products, the BDM will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives to enhance brand visibility, increase sales revenue, and foster strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Key areas of responsibility:

Market Analysis and Strategy Development:

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape in the branded rice industry.
  • Develop strategic plans and initiatives to capitalize on market opportunities and achieve business objectives.
  • Raising awareness of new launches to the key whole customers and retail customers

New Business Acquisition and Sales Growth:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand market presence and drive sales growth.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customers, distributors, retailers, and other stakeholders to secure new business accounts.

Product Portfolio Management:

  • Collaborate with product development teams to enhance and diversify the company's branded rice product portfolio.
  • Identify opportunities for product innovation, packaging enhancements, and new product launches to meet evolving consumer demands.

Brand Building and Marketing:

  • Work closely with marketing teams to develop and execute effective marketing strategies and campaigns to products.
  • Activate trade promotional activities and liaise with suppliers and production team.

Distribution Network Expansion:

  • Generating leads through regular market visits and networking at Trade shows & Trade events
  • Establish and maintain relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and retailers to ensure optimal product availability and distribution coverage.

Performance Tracking and Reporting:

  • Monitor sales performance, market trends, and competitive activities to assess business performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Competitor analysis and Market sizing
  • Preparing status reports on goals
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations to senior management, highlighting key metrics, achievements, and opportunities for growth.

Commercial Management

  • Assist in commercial planning, forecasting, and costing promotions.
  • Negotiate with event management and media suppliers for competitive prices and spaces.
  • Vendor management of trade point of sale materials and supplies

Qualifications/Experience required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in business development, sales, or marketing roles within the FMCG industry, preferably in the food sector.
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics, consumer behaviour, and competitive landscape in the branded FMCG industry.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute business plans and initiatives.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on driving sales revenue and achieving business targets.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software.
  • My client would consider someone with 1-3 years exp working within the Food industry to train up within this large and established company
