*** Behaviour Mentor - Targetted to work and with pupils in KS3

*** Full Time role - 8am - 3.30 / 4pm

*** Stevenage, Hertfordshire - up to £130 p/day

*** Ofsted 'Good' school with superb Specialist SEN team and facilities


Tradewind are recruiting on behalf of a large inclusive MAT school in Stevenage, Hertfordshire. Working alongside pupils in Key Stage 3 and 4 who are at risk of permanent exclusion. This is a full time post to start in September and last until the end of the academic year at which time you will have the opportunity to become a permanent member of the team.


This is a well established and diverse Secondary Academy committed to ensuring pupils have the best chance to achieve their best. The headteacher is looking for staff from either a Primary or Secondary background with experienced of working with children who display challenging behaviour. Building stable and professional relationships is a key part of this role and the school are looking for individuals who have the desire to progress onto a permanent contract and continue their development within this award winning trust of schools.


As one of the Behaviour Mentors, you will be responsible for:

*** Supporting in class and within a reflection room capacity, providing class teachers with guidance and support

*** Keep a calm and professional manner about you at all times

*** Be able to build lasting relationships with pupils, parents, staff and external agencies alike

*** Provide a caring and supportive learning environment.


We are looking for applicants who:
*** Have a background in SEN, SEMH or mental health work

*** Is committed to joining the school on a long term to permanent basis

*** Able to bring a calm and reassuring presence to the classroom

*** Can demonstrate excellent communication skills and work within a team

*** Able to lead small groups and work on a 1:1 basis when required

*** Have an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
