A Special Educational Needs school in Gloucester is seeking a compassionate and committed Behaviour Support Assistant to join their team. The school supports students with a variety of learning difficulties, including behavioural and emotional needs, offering a nurturing and structured environment to help them succeed.

In this role, you will work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to provide tailored support for students. You'll be essential in helping students manage their behaviour, stay engaged in learning, and develop their social and emotional skills. Additionally, you'll contribute to creating a positive and supportive environment where all students feel safe, valued, and understood.

Key Responsibilities of a Behaviour Support Assistant:

  • Support students with challenging behavioural, social, and emotional needs within the classroom and beyond.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualised behaviour support plans.
  • Help students develop positive coping strategies and improve their social and emotional skills.
  • Work closely with teachers and SEN specialists to monitor students' progress and adapt strategies as needed.
  • Foster a calm, inclusive environment where students feel respected and supported.

Who Are We Looking For?

Academics Ltd are looking for individuals who are patient, empathetic, and passionate about supporting children with special educational needs. A background in education, sports, arts, psychology, criminology or similar fields would be advantageous, but above all, you should have a genuine interest in helping children overcome challenges and reach their potential.
