Job Opportunity: Behaviour Support Officer

Location: Westminster, London

Type: Full-Time, Academic Year Contract (September 2024 - July 2025)

Salary: £90+ per day (depending on experience)

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young learners? Do you have experience in supporting students with challenging behaviours? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join an excellent Secondary School, located in Kilburn, Westminster as a Behaviour Support Officer.

Role Overview: As a Behaviour Support Officer, you will play a crucial role in promoting positive behaviour and maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement behaviour management strategies and support systems within the school.
  • Work closely with students on an individual or small group basis, providing guidance and mentoring.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to develop and review behaviour plans.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to stakeholders.
  • Promote positive relationships and a culture of respect among students and staff.
  • Organise and deliver targeted interventions and support programs.
  • Liaise with external professionals to access additional support and resources.
  • Attend team meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities as required.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies.
  • Ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and safeguarding practices.
  • A genuine passion for supporting students' personal and academic development.
