Job Title: Behaviour Support Assistant
Location: Camden
Pay Scale: £85-£100 per day (based on experience)
Start Date: ASAP

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Assistant to join one of its client schools in Camden. This role involves supporting students who require additional help to manage their behaviour and achieve their full potential in an educational setting.

Academic Requirements & Skills:

  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Relevant academic qualifications or training in behaviour management or special educational needs (desirable).
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with students, teachers, parents, and external professionals.
  • Empathy, patience, and resilience when working with students displaying challenging behaviour.
  • Ability to build positive relationships and establish trust with students.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage documentation and maintain accurate records.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Expected outcomes from you:

  • Work closely with classroom teachers and SENCO to implement behaviour support plans for individual students.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with behavioural challenges, ensuring they remain engaged and focused on their learning.
  • Assist in developing and implementing strategies to promote positive behaviour and social interaction.
  • Monitor and record student behaviour, progress, and incidents, providing feedback to teachers and other relevant staff.
  • Support the development of students' social skills and emotional well-being through targeted interventions and activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents to identify triggers and develop proactive behaviour management strategies.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in behaviour support.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment, adhering to the school's policies and procedures on safeguarding and child protection.

Document Requirements:

  • The Right to Work in the UK.
  • An enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or willingness to process a new application through us.
  • Two professional child-related references.
  • An updated CV.
