Benefits Assessment Officer

Working on behalf of a local authority, JO recruitment has an urgent requirement for an experienced Benefits Assessment Officer. This is a fully remote role initially for 3 months with possibility for extensions. This is a full time position, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday paying £19 per hour PAYE; which is equivalent to £36,556 salary or £25 per hour through an umbrella. To start ASAP.

Take action to ensure that applications for Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction, Discretionary Housing Payments, Discretionary Council Tax Reduction and Local Welfare Assistance are processed and paid promptly and correctly in accordance with legislation and procedures.

• Basic DBS and BPSS required
• Relevant experience in Housing Benefit and Council Tax rebate assessment.
• Customer service experience with a focus on understanding and meeting customer needs.
• Strong numerical and financial calculation skills.
• Proficiency in using Capita Academy.
