Position – Bid Manager

Industry – Facilities Management/Construction

Location – Preston

Salary/Package – £39,000 - £51,000, Company phone & technology, Clear career progression, 24 days holiday exc banks, & a in house wellbeing support service.

Client profile

My client is an established facilities management company specialising in Health and Mental Health Services and can combine all trades into one. Undertaking many construction projects from small repairs to large refurbishments in a variety of commercial industries.

Job Description

Are you an experience Bid Manager with expertise in the construction, building, or Facilities Management sector? Are you ready to take on a new challenge?

This position is pivotal in driving business growth by preparing high-quality bid documents and proposals. Do you have strong sales expertise to secure new business opportunities whilst cultivating lasting client relationships?

Responsibilities

  • Write, edit, and proofread compelling bid documents and proposals to secure new contracts.
  • Develop clear, concise, and tailored content that meets client requirements and showcases the company’s strengths.
  • Ensure all bid submissions are accurate, complete, and compliant with client specifications.
  • Conduct research on clients, competitors, and industry trends to inform bid content and strategy.
  • Maintain a repository of standard content, case studies, and other relevant information for use in bids.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to achieve revenue targets
  • Coordinate the bid process, including tracking deadlines and managing bid schedules.
  • Organise and participate in bid strategy meetings and reviews.
  • Develop and implement effective business development strategies and plans
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to network and promote the company
  • Understand client needs and develop tailored solutions to meet their requirements

You must have or hold

  • 3 years’ experience of working in bid writing or a related role.
  • Experience of working in the construction/building/Facilities Management sector.
  • Proven track record of bid writing.
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines.
  • Experience of working as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads.
  • Proficient user of MS Office packages.
  • MUST pass an enhanced DBS Check

We are looking for a conscientious, reliable person capable of working on their own and as part of a team, in a fast-paced environment.

Progression through the company is possible, with in-depth experience of the role being an advantage, but not essential as a clear career progression plan will be set in place.
